Rabeca Cultural invites you to the “Musical Universe” exhibition featuring the young artist Aaron Barrios, only 7 years old. The opening will take place on Sunday, September 2, from 2 PM to 8 PM, with free admission.
The exhibition will remain open until October 7, 2018, from Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 12 PM and from 2 PM to 5 PM.
Aaron previously exhibited at Rabeca Cultural in 2017, when he was only five years old. He presented paintings he created at just three and a half years old. One of them, “The Head”, will be shown in October at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris (France), and others at the National Club of Fine Arts in Lisbon (Portugal) in November 2018.
About Aaron Barrios
Despite his young age and lack of formal training, Aaron’s art is entirely spontaneous. There was no pressure or influence from his parents, Rose and Aurélio. They simply provided what he loves most: paint, brushes, and the freedom to express himself.
At home, there is no television, and devices like phones or iPads are not part of his routine. Aaron prefers painting, playing violin, guitar, and piano, as well as learning languages. He speaks Portuguese, Spanish, and German.
He says what drives him to paint so compulsively (he has already created hundreds of paintings, many larger than himself) is the joy people feel when they see his art. He paints to make people happy.
Musical Performances
Other events will take place alongside the exhibition, including performances by Nayara Martini and Group (Brazilian Popular Music), a violin duet with Aaron Barrios and his teacher Wesley Aguiar (starting at 2 PM), and a concert by the Querubins de Betel String Orchestra at 5 PM.
The orchestra consists of 17 children and teenagers aged 7 to 15 and is part of a project run by AMBAP – the Residents’ Association of Betel and Alvorada Parque neighborhoods. Maestro Paulo Rocco is the project’s coordinator and artistic director. The orchestra focuses on Brazilian music with educational value.
